🌧 Thunder, Tunes, and A Step Forward

Submission sent, Marie Kelly rework, and tax documents tackled.

🌧 Today’s Weather in Illinois
Homer Glen is welcoming the first crisp winds of November with cloudy skies and a high near 50°F. As the afternoon brings showers, tonight will cool down to the low 40s, perfect for staying in and writing—or maybe doing some paperwork, too.

🎶 What’s On the Radio Today
"White Horse" by Chris Stapleton: A raw, emotional track that pulls you in with its melancholic yet beautiful storytelling. Stapleton’s voice is the heart of this one, and it lingers with you long after the song ends.
"Somewhere Over Laredo" by Lainey Wilson: A hauntingly beautiful track that blends Western storytelling with emotion, Wilson’s voice adding depth and soul to the imagery of Laredo.

💭 Submission Sent: A Step Forward
Today, I submitted my query letter for In The Devil’s Wake. It’s a big moment, but now comes the waiting game. It’s nerve-wracking, of course, but I’m staying focused on what I can control—like reorganizing my tax documents and preparing for the next big task. There’s still much to do, but submitting the query feels like a major step in the right direction!

💭 New Beginnings with Marie Kelly Rework
Next Saturday, I’m diving into reworking The Inextinguishable Marie Kelly—enough to make it a new manuscript. This means adding substantial content, revisiting character arcs, and expanding the narrative in ways that will give the story new life. I’m excited for this challenge and ready to take it on. The current version laid the foundation, but now it’s time to build on it, transform it, and make it something even more powerful.

💭 Tax Documents: Getting Organized
I’ve also made some progress on organizing my tax documents—something I’ve been meaning to tackle. It’s always one of those tasks that feels overwhelming, but breaking it down and staying on top of it now will save me time in the future. The process is going smoothly, and with this update, I’m feeling more prepared for the upcoming year.
